New scan could spare breast cancer patients unnecessary surgery

NCT ID NCT06559371

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a special PET/CT scan (68Ga-FAPI) can accurately tell if breast cancer has been cleared from lymph nodes after chemotherapy. About 150 women who have finished at least 3 rounds of treatment will get the scan before surgery. If the scan works well, it could help doctors decide if less invasive surgery is needed.
