New score could spare epilepsy patients from invasive brain probes
NCT ID NCT06138808
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a simple scoring system, called the 5-SENSE score, can accurately predict where seizures begin in the brain. Researchers will test this in 400 people with hard-to-treat epilepsy who are already scheduled for an invasive brain test called SEEG. If the score works well, it may help some patients avoid this risky procedure in the future.
