New scan technique could sharpen lung cancer radiation targeting
NCT ID NCT01421953
First seen Jun 03, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a special type of scan called 4D PET-CT can help doctors plan radiation therapy better for people with non-small cell lung cancer. Seven patients had both a standard CT scan and a 4D PET-CT scan, and researchers compared the radiation target areas from each. The goal was to see if the newer scan gives a clearer picture of the tumor, which could lead to more precise treatment.
