NCT ID NCT05777317
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 30, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether a device that sends mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord (10 kHz SCS) can reduce pain and improve nerve function in people with painful diabetic neuropathy. About 143 participants will either get standard medical care alone or the device plus standard care. The goal is to see if more people get at least 50% pain relief and show measurable nerve improvement.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
10 kHz spinal cord stimulation (SCS) device
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new option to significantly reduce chronic pain and improve nerve function in people with painful diabetic neuropathy.
What could go wrong
This is a mid-stage trial with 143 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The device requires surgery and carries risks like infection or device malfunction.
