New hope for lung cancer patients with brain lining spread: drug combo trial launches
NCT ID NCT07551414
First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests a combination of two treatments for people with a specific type of lung cancer (NSCLC with EGFR mutation) whose cancer has spread to the lining of the brain or spinal cord (leptomeningeal metastasis) after prior targeted therapy. The treatment combines an oral drug (zorifertinib) with chemotherapy delivered directly into the fluid around the brain and spine via a small device (Ommaya reservoir). The goal is to see if this combination can shrink or control the spread, and how long people live. About 38 adults will take part.
