Summary
This study tests whether a single intravenous dose of zoledronic acid can prevent the bone loss that often happens when people start HIV medications. Researchers will compare bone density changes over 48 months in 110 newly diagnosed HIV patients who either receive the drug or just standard follow-up. The goal is to see if this simple intervention can protect bone mass without long-term treatment.
