First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a single dose of zoledronic acid can prevent bone loss that often happens when people start HIV medications. About 110 adults newly diagnosed with HIV will either receive the drug or just be monitored. Researchers will track bone density over four years to see if the treatment helps keep bones strong.
