Dental grinding secrets revealed: study measures each stroke
NCT ID NCT07280130
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study aims to measure how much zirconia, a hard ceramic used in dental crowns, is removed with each grinding stroke during adjustments. Researchers will have 120 participants—dental students, interns, and experienced clinicians—grind standardized zirconia blocks and then scan them to see exactly how much material was removed. The goal is to provide data that helps dentists make more precise adjustments, reducing guesswork and improving crown fit.
