Dental grinding secrets revealed: study measures each stroke on tough zirconia crowns
NCT ID NCT07280130
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study aims to find out how much tooth-replacement material is removed with each grinding stroke when adjusting a zirconia crown. Researchers will have 120 participants—dental students, interns, and experienced clinicians—grind standardized zirconia blocks and measure the material removed using a 3D scanner. The goal is to provide data that helps dentists adjust crowns more accurately, reducing guesswork and improving fit.
