Teens take the lead: new study lets youth redesign their cities for better health

NCT ID NCT06181162

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study brings together teenagers (ages 12-18) from disadvantaged areas in Denmark, the Netherlands, Nigeria, and South Africa with researchers and local leaders. Over three years, the teens will help design and test changes to their neighborhoods—like parks and streets—to make it easier to be active, sleep well, and spend less time on screens. The goal is to learn how to create healthier environments for young people in cities around the world.
