Could a simple cream reduce wound problems after complex leg surgery?

NCT ID NCT07004764

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This early study tests whether applying nitropaste (a cream that widens blood vessels) during high-risk leg surgeries can improve blood flow to the wound and reduce complications like infection or poor healing. Researchers will use a special camera (SPY imaging) to measure blood flow during surgery. The study involves 15 adults undergoing specific ankle, heel, or shinbone repairs.
