Can a simple cream prevent wound problems after leg surgery?

NCT ID NCT07004764

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This early study tests whether applying a nitropaste cream during high-risk leg surgery can improve blood flow to the wound area, potentially reducing complications like infection or poor healing. About 15 adults having specific ankle, heel, or shinbone surgeries will receive the cream, and doctors will use a special camera to measure blood flow. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and worth studying further.
