New injection could ease wisdom tooth pain and cut opioid use

NCT ID NCT04880707

Summary

This study is testing a dental numbing injection called the 'Twin Block' to see if it can reduce jaw muscle pain and the need for opioid painkillers after wisdom tooth removal. Researchers will enroll 48 healthy adults who have significant jaw muscle pain the day after their procedure. Participants will receive either the real injection or a placebo, and their pain levels and medication use will be tracked for a week.
