Volunteers swallow parasite eggs to help science fight whipworm
NCT ID NCT05706116
Summary
This study aims to create a safe, controlled model of whipworm infection in healthy adults. Up to 18 volunteers will swallow different doses of whipworm eggs to see if an infection develops and how their bodies react. The goal is to establish a reliable way to test future vaccines or treatments for this parasitic disease, not to treat or cure anyone in this trial.
