Volunteers swallow parasite eggs to help science
NCT ID NCT05706116
Summary
This study aims to create a safe, controlled model of a whipworm infection in healthy adults. Up to 18 volunteers will swallow a single dose of whipworm eggs to see if an infection develops and how their bodies react. The goal is to establish a reliable way to test future vaccines or drugs for this parasitic disease in a controlled setting.
