Summary
This small study tested whether drinking whey protein before eating carbohydrates could help pregnant women avoid sharp rises in blood sugar. Twenty-one healthy pregnant women took part. Researchers measured their blood sugar and insulin levels after a glucose drink, with and without a whey protein pre-load.
