Summary
This study is testing whether a minimally invasive stomach-reducing procedure can help obese patients with ulcerative colitis lose weight before they undergo major colon removal surgery. Researchers want to see if this approach is safe and effective for this specific group of patients. The study involves 12 participants at Mayo Clinic who are planning to have their colon removed and replaced with an internal pouch.
