NCT ID NCT06739447
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study will see if using a Garmin smartwatch to continuously track heart rate, breathing rate, and oxygen levels can help doctors in Ghana spot when a child's condition is getting worse faster than the usual method of checking vital signs by hand. About 250 children with injuries or after appendix surgery will wear the watch during their hospital stay. The goal is to see if the smartwatch system catches more warning signs than manual checks alone.
