Wearable gadget aims to prevent dialysis heart damage by siphoning fluid between treatments
NCT ID NCT06832696
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests a new wearable device that can gently remove extra fluid from the body between dialysis sessions. Standard dialysis removes fluid quickly, which can damage the heart and brain. The device is meant to take off leftover fluid slowly, reducing those risks. The study will enroll 18 adults on dialysis to see if the device works, is comfortable, and can run long enough to remove a set amount of fluid.
