First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tested a wearable device that uses electrical stimulation to help stroke survivors improve their walking. Researchers first recorded muscle activity from healthy volunteers to understand normal walking patterns. Then, stroke survivors used the device for about a month to retrain their leg muscles. The goal was to see if their walking could become more like that of healthy individuals.
