Shock therapy for back pain? new study tests muscle stimulation
NCT ID NCT06642350
First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tested if whole-body electrical muscle stimulation (WB-EMS) works as well as standard resistance training for easing long-term low back pain. 26 adults aged 40-70 with chronic pain took part. Both methods aim to strengthen back muscles without heavy weights, but WB-EMS may be easier for those afraid of movement.
