Colorful carpet gets kids walking sooner after surgery, cutting pain and fear

NCT ID NCT07404163

First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether a low-cost, colorful walkway (like a mat carpet) can help children aged 4-10 feel less pain and fear when they first get up after abdominal surgery. About 74 children will use the walkway, and researchers will measure their pain, fear, and how quickly they start walking. The goal is to make recovery more playful and less scary for kids.
