VR game aims to trick the brain, ease chronic pain
NCT ID NCT06330181
Summary
This study is testing whether playing a virtual reality walking game can help reduce chronic nerve pain in adults with incomplete spinal cord injuries. Researchers believe the VR experience may correct a mismatch between what the brain expects and what the body feels, which could lessen pain. The study is recruiting 48 people who have had an injury for over 1.5 years and experience daily pain.
