VR nature therapy shows promise for depression in alcohol recovery

Summary

This study tests whether experiencing virtual reality (VR) nature scenes can reduce depression, anxiety, and stress in adults with alcohol use disorder who are in an intensive outpatient program. About 50 participants with at least moderate depression will either receive standard care or add 12 VR nature sessions over 4 weeks. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and helpful for improving mood and well-being during early recovery.
