VR headsets calm Kids' fears before medical scopes

This study tested whether using virtual reality (VR) could help children feel less anxious and have less pain when getting a gastrointestinal endoscopy (a camera tube to look inside the stomach and intestines). Sixty-six children in Egypt were randomly assigned to either use a VR headset with fun, immersive games before their procedure or to receive standard care. The researchers measured the children's anxiety, pain after the procedure, and how long it took them to recover.
