Virtual reality headsets sent to homes to fight back pain

NCT ID NCT04409353

Summary

This study tested whether using virtual reality (VR) therapy at home could help people manage chronic low back pain. Researchers sent VR headsets and activity trackers to 413 participants' homes to compare different VR programs over 90 days. The goal was to see if VR could reduce pain interference with daily life, improve sleep and mood, and potentially decrease pain medication use.
