First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This early-stage study tested a new drug called VP-001 in 6 people with a rare inherited eye disease caused by a PRPF31 gene mutation. The drug was given as an injection into the eye to see if it is safe and tolerable. The goal was to check for side effects, not to measure if it improves vision.
