Summary
This study looked at whether voxelotor, a drug that improves anemia in sickle cell disease, also helps the brain by improving blood flow and oxygen use. Researchers measured brain activity in children and young adults aged 4 to 30 with sickle cell anemia. The study was stopped early, but it aimed to understand if the drug reduces stress on the brain.
