Vitamin D3 boosts IBD treatment in new trial
NCT ID NCT04225819
First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether adding vitamin D3 to standard anti-TNF therapy helps people with active Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis feel better and have healthier gut bacteria. About 100 adults starting anti-TNF treatment will receive either vitamin D3 or a placebo for 14 weeks. Researchers will track symptoms, stool samples, and blood markers to see if vitamin D3 improves outcomes.
