First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looked at whether taking vitamin D3 for 3 months can reduce inflammation and improve immune cell counts in people with HIV who are already on antiretroviral therapy. Twenty adults with early-stage HIV took part. Researchers measured changes in a marker of inflammation (IL-6) and CD4 immune cells to see if vitamin D3 offers extra benefits beyond standard HIV treatment.
