Vitamin d boosts acne treatment in new study

NCT ID NCT06141330

First seen May 21, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether adding vitamin D supplements to standard acne medication (azithromycin and a topical retinoid) improves acne more than medication alone. Fifty-eight people with acne vulgaris, aged 13 to 40, took part for two months. The main goal was to see if the combination led to greater improvement in acne severity scores.
