Can vitamin c protect the gut after a transplant?
NCT ID NCT07197749
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This early-phase trial tests whether adding vitamin C to standard steroid treatment can help people with gut graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) after a donor stem cell transplant. GVHD happens when donor cells attack the patient's body, especially the gut, causing pain and bowel problems. The study will enroll 35 people aged 5 and older to see if vitamin C, which protected gut cells in lab studies, improves response at day 28.
