First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looked at whether showing children videos or giving them sensory toys can reduce pain and anxiety when they get a numbing shot at the dentist. 100 healthy children aged 4-6 who had never been to the dentist before took part. Some kids got a distraction (visual or sensory), while others got none. The researchers measured pain and anxiety using child-friendly scales and heart rate monitors.
