Lab-Grown 'Killer Cells' tested to fight dangerous viruses in vulnerable patients

NCT ID NCT02479698

Summary

This study is testing a treatment made from donated immune cells grown in a lab. These cells are designed to find and kill BK and JC viruses, which can cause serious infections in people with weakened immune systems, such as those with cancer, HIV, or a transplant. The goal is to see if these cell infusions are safe and can help control these viral infections.
