First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using virtual reality (VR) can help reduce pain in children and young adults with sickle cell disease who are having a painful crisis. About 76 participants, ages 6 to 25, will either get standard pain treatment alone or standard treatment plus VR. Researchers will compare pain scores and opioid use to see if VR makes a difference.
