Virtual reality goggles could replace pain pills for kidney stone patients

Summary

This study tests whether wearing a virtual reality headset during a common kidney stone procedure (ESWL) can lower pain and anxiety. About 72 adults will be randomly assigned to either standard care or standard care plus VR. Researchers will measure pain levels, anxiety, and how much pain medication patients need.
