Virtual coach helps public housing residents quit smoking and get lung checks

NCT ID NCT06289192

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tested whether a computer-based virtual counselor, along with support from a community health worker, could help adults in public housing quit smoking and get screened for lung cancer. Five people aged 50 or older who smoked took part. The goal was to see if the program was easy to use and acceptable, not to prove it works. Results will guide a future larger trial.
