Donor's 'Super Cells' deployed to battle stubborn Post-Transplant viruses

NCT ID NCT05664126

Summary

This study is testing whether special infection-fighting cells from a donor can safely treat stubborn cytomegalovirus (CMV) and adenovirus infections in patients who have had a bone marrow transplant. Researchers will collect these virus-specific immune cells from a partially matched family donor, grow them in a lab machine, and infuse them into 42 patients. The main goal is to see if this treatment significantly reduces the amount of virus in the blood four weeks later.
