First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tested a new blood test (VIDAS TBI) in 903 adults with mild traumatic brain injury to see if it can accurately rule out brain damage. The goal is to reduce the need for CT scans, which are costly and expose patients to radiation. The test measures two proteins released after brain injury and could help emergency doctors make faster, safer decisions.
