New drug cocktail aims to keep High-Risk leukemia in remission before transplant

Summary
This study tests whether a combination of two drugs (venetoclax and azacitidine) works better than standard chemotherapy to keep high-risk acute myeloid leukemia (AML) from coming back before a stem cell transplant. About 216 adults with high-risk AML who are already in remission after initial treatment will be randomly assigned to one of two consolidation therapies. The goal is to improve leukemia-free survival and reduce the chance of relapse before transplant.
