Armpit ultrasound may guide sepsis fluid therapy

NCT ID NCT07507877

First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring how much a vein near the armpit collapses can predict if a sepsis patient needs more fluids. It involves 40 adults with sepsis who are breathing on their own and have signs of poor blood flow. Doctors will use ultrasound to check the vein before and after giving fluids to see if the test works.
