First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This early study tests a skin gel made from curcumin (found in turmeric) in 25 adults with stable sickle cell disease. The gel is applied to the forearms twice a week for 6 weeks to see if it is safe and well-tolerated. Researchers will also check how much curcumin gets into the body and if it helps red blood cells work better.
