First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026

Summary

This early-phase study tests whether a skin gel made from curcumin (a compound in turmeric) is safe and tolerable for people with stable sickle cell disease. About 25 adults aged 18–70 will apply the gel to their forearms twice a week for 6 weeks. Researchers will monitor side effects and measure how well the body absorbs the gel, aiming to improve red blood cell health.
