New needle technique may replace breast surgery for high-risk lumps
NCT ID NCT03868475
First seen Mar 30, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study was designed to compare a less invasive method called vacuum-assisted excision (VAPE) with standard surgery for removing non-cancerous but high-risk breast lesions. The goal was to see if VAPE works as well, is safer, leaves better scars, and makes patients happier. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
