First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested a non-invasive device that gently stimulates a nerve in the ear to see if it can help control blood pressure during heart stent surgery. 480 adults with coronary artery disease and high blood pressure were randomly assigned to receive either the real stimulation or a sham (fake) version. Researchers measured their blood pressure in the operating room to see if the real stimulation led to better blood pressure control.
