NCT ID NCT07462091
First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study is testing a new surgical approach for people with cirrhosis who need their spleen removed due to an enlarged spleen and high blood pressure in the liver. The surgery uses a nerve (vagus nerve) as a guide to potentially reduce common post-surgery digestive issues like diarrhea and stomach emptying problems. Researchers will track 15 participants for 3 months after surgery to see if this technique improves their quality of life.
