First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tested whether guiding robotic surgery with the vagus nerve could reduce digestive problems like diarrhea and delayed stomach emptying after spleen removal and blood vessel repair. Sixty adults with cirrhosis, an enlarged spleen, and bleeding from high blood pressure in the liver took part. The goal was to see if this nerve-guided approach improves recovery and quality of life compared to standard robotic surgery.
