Pee power: urine test may end painful bladder probes for MS patients

NCT ID NCT06161376

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a substance in urine, called S1P, can help doctors check for bladder overactivity in people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Bladder problems are common in MS, but the current best test is uncomfortable and invasive. Researchers will measure S1P levels in urine from 400 MS patients and compare them to results from standard bladder tests. If S1P works as a biomarker, it could lead to a simpler, less stressful way to monitor bladder health in MS.
