Arm flossing: the latest fitness hack or just a stretch?
NCT ID NCT07670793
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether wrapping an elastic band around the upper arm for two minutes can immediately improve arm stability and explosive power. Twenty-eight healthy adults were randomly assigned to receive either the real band or a fake sham band. Their performance was measured before and after using a medicine ball throw and a rapid hand-touch test. The goal is to see if this simple technique can give a quick boost to upper body performance.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance

- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a simple warm-up technique for athletes or rehab patients to boost arm performance.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small, early study in healthy people, so results may not apply to injured or older populations. The effect may be small or due to chance.
