HIV and breastfeeding: major US study seeks answers

Summary
This study, called UPLIFT, is observing 1,150 women with HIV in the United States to understand their infant feeding choices and outcomes. Researchers will use interviews and surveys to explore the medical, social, and behavioral factors behind decisions to breastfeed or formula-feed. The goal is to fill knowledge gaps and improve care for mothers with HIV and their babies.
