New drug trial aims to ease joint and spine pain in psoriatic arthritis

Summary
This study tests whether upadacitinib, a daily pill, can reduce inflammation and improve symptoms in people with active psoriatic arthritis that also affects the spine. About 100 adults who have not responded well to standard treatments will receive either upadacitinib or a placebo for 12 weeks. The main goal is to see changes on MRI scans and in disease activity scores.
